If you’re with Skinny Broadband, there’s a change coming that could affect your wallet. Starting 1 August 2025, Skinny is increasing the price of its Unlimited Broadband – Fibre 300 plan by $5, bringing the monthly total to $90. This update was confirmed in an email sent to customers and on Skinny’s official broadband sign-up page.
From 1 August, the Skinny Unlimited Fibre 300 plan goes from $85 to $90 per month. The new price excludes any active discounts, such as the Bring Your Own Modem or Mobile Bundle offers. If you’re using one of these, your actual cost may still be lower but it’s worth checking.
Skinny says rising operational costs, including the fees they pay to access New Zealand’s fibre network, are behind the increase. They’ve kept prices steady for some time, but ongoing inflation and wholesale price pressures mean a change was inevitable.
This puts Skinny in line with other major providers like 2degrees, Spark and One NZ, who have also raised or are going to raise prices this year in response to growing infrastructure and service costs.
If the $5 jump doesn’t sit right with you, you’re free to cancel — even if you’re on a fixed-term contract. Just let Skinny know before 1 September 2025 and they’ll waive any break fees. That said, cancelling could mean you’ll also lose any bundle discounts tied to your mobile plan.
