The Packing Shed was established in 1996 to provide Internet access to the Franklin area.
It has grown from the early days of dial-up internet to providing fibre, ADSL and wireless internet services. The Packing Shed servers are housed in a secure server facility in Pukekohe with multiple internet connections for redundancy. All internet services are managed by a mix of Linux and FreeBSD servers providing email, web, and PPP services.
