Slingshot Broadband

slingshot broadband nz

From the start, Slingshot has been challenging the telco industry and fighting to give New Zealand families better value broadband, supported by amazing service.

Slingshot NZ know that in the modern world, it is crucial to stay online, but they also know how confusing it might be to get online. They have worked hard to make Slingshot easy, affordable and hassle-free – because this guys know you have other important things to do and spend your time on than sorting your internet.

They are dedicated to making broadband simple, affordable, easy to use, and cover the needs of a modern family – whether they are intensely streaming videos, gaming all day, or just spending their time on Facebook.

Slingshot broadband is part of the Vocus Group of companies.

Slingshot Broadband offer ultrafast Fibre & Naked Broadband Plans for New Zealand.

They have a range of different broadband plans available. Some of their broadband plans include a home phone line whilst other broadband plans are like Naked Broadband and don't have a home telephone line.

The type of broadband connection you can get depends on your address and area. They offer all types of broadband connection, Fibre, VDSL and ADSL dependant on what is available in your broadband region.

Broadband slow and intermittent

Problems started right after connection: 75% of websites were not working (including their portal even) - just timing out with lost packets in tracer after 3rd hop. With VPN everything worked - e.g. the issue was a misconfiguration on their side. Technical support sounded professional at first, but failed to even log the issue. Next day on second try issue was logged with estimated 72 hour resoultion timeframe. Switched to other provider in 3 days after connection with this misery continued. No follow-ups, no explanation provided, just ignorance. I would highly discourage anyone from even considering a switch! ...read more

Slingshot- broadband rubbish, service disinterested and annoying, and trying to get an account that works frustrating. So now I am back shopping for an internet provider that can combine service and good pricing.
Pros
Cons
Slow broadband with lagging. Account system problematic. Non responsive or slow customer service, and when Slungshot responds it is with a multichoice do it yourself email, which 4/5 times does not answer the question you posed in the email. They have managed to kick Orcon off the most useless internet provider. ...read more

Total lack of concern despite the fact they know I am elderly, partially sighted and with multiple health problems and have had a dead landline (my only mean of communication) for a week. Can't even ring 111 if needed. I don't wonder they are rates 116th in the ISP category; their CS is useless.
Pros
Cheap but not cheapest.
Cons
Slow, inconsistent connection; appalling CS
