Bigpipe means fast, unlimited broadband internet in a variety of flavors starting with cheaper, accessible ADSL, to faster VDSL, and all the way through ultra-fast fibre broadband. No data caps, no throttling, no contracts, and great online service. So if you’re after naked broadband internet with no data caps and no contract – get Bipgipe. It’s internet the way it should be.

At Bigpipe, they won't try to sell you a landline that you don't want or need. Some other internet providers only sell bundled packages, but they’re just a broadband provider – and they do their broadband naked and unlimited, the way it should be.

Naked ADSL and VDSL

Bigpipe’s entry level ADSL plans are great for home users who want fast and unlimited broadband, but don’t need the higher download speeds required for full-on online gaming and live streaming. Their mid-level VDSL plan is where you start to experience some really serious speed, and it is great for gaming and live streaming, not to mention that it is also unlimited like all their naked broadband plans, which means no data caps (for real!).

Naked UFB

If you live on the internet and only the fastest connection will do, then you’ve got to try our naked UFB plans. Download speeds from 100-200 Mbps and up to 200 Mbps upload - it doesn’t get any faster than this. Once you have experienced the joy of an un-capped, ultra-fast fibre broadband connection you’ll never want to go back.

On install I had network speed issues and despite following all the required tests no one at BigPipe could explain why my connection was not up to speed. In frustration I decided to try to resolve it myself, took apart the wiring and found that Chorus had put a screw through the cable - once I changed the wire all was ok until my plan was "upgraded" .
I'm now on 1000mb download and my service is so inconsistent that since the first week of gigabit service its never gone beyond 500mb. In fact the speed is ranging from 15mb - 150mb(if I'm really lucky) the majority of the time it sits around 20mb download with upload bouncing between 200-500mb.
Dealing with their customer service is a nightmare as its all by email and its always the same answer - test via the ONT etc etc. Given the fact my speed was working properly after I repaired the wiring, my internal network has remained constant and I have had reason to contact them multiple times since with the same problem, I would have hoped that being on their top plan somebody in customer service might have thought "Hey whats going on here" and picked up the phone or sent Chorus around to check.
But no - instead I keep getting the same generic email and no real follow up.

They're an excellent provider in general. You do need a decent router for Gigabit however getting a constant 960/480Mbit via Ethernet. Support has been top notch.

Pros:

Support, Speed, Reliability

Cons:

No IPv6, Handover in Auckland

Tried their 900 down option - got 470 once over a 2 week period - rest of time just 90 down.

Pros:

If you stay with 100 down you'll be ok.

Cons:

Very slow support - 1 week for email responses. Don't pay for 200+ speeds - they simply don't work.
