Back in 2007, Trustpower Phone & Internet (then known as Kinect), began providing phone services to residential customers. The same year, we began offering services over ADSL to residential and business customers.
In 2010, we successfully implemented an ISP network and began providing internet services directly to our customers. As is the case today, our service was supported by Trustpower’s strong wholesale relationships with network companies.
In 2011, the Government committed $1.35 billion to build an Ultra Fast Broadband (UFB) network throughout New Zealand. We soon started planning to offer UFB to customers and connected our first ultra fast broadband customer in August 2012. Today, we provide over 500 customers with phone and internet services over UFB. Internet speeds range from 30 megabits to 100 megabits per second.
In 2013 we had 27,500 telecommunications customers. Over 16,000 of them were with us for their broadband service, and the number continues to grow.
As always, we strive to offer our customers quality service. We are also committed to ongoing innovation and excellence across the telecommunications sector. Trustpower is a member of the Telecom Carriers Forum (TCF).

The broadband connection seems to be going off line more so in the last 6 months.
The Ultra fast broadband and being unlimited data was well priced.
In the last 6 months broadband has been going off line about 4 or 5 times a week.

Very poor download 4.6 mbps and even worse upload 0.6 mbps

I switched to Trustpower from my old Orcon account several months ago to basically get the low cost for two years ADSL deal.
Nice package, the NF10W is kinda cute and small and uses little power. Handy having billing simplified with Power.
The free router from Trustpower Netcomm NF10W seems to have the buffer bloat problem with wifi. So gets really laggy when several wifi clients are connected. We have noticed that the wifi is worse compared to Orcon Geniu ...read more

Power companies should stick to providing power. If you are slightly late with your power bill, they turn off your broadband so you have no internet and you have to pay $85 to have it turned back on. Trustpower are bullies!

I scored a lower value, as they entice you in as a new client, however once that term is up, they offer nothing for existing customers to stay. There seems to be no such thing as loyalty and yet they ask us to be loyal. Loyalty is a two way street. I even called them to see if they would match what we were going to move to, sadly no, so the switch is on.
Reliable, convenient to have broadband gas and electricity on the one bill, also the tech cheque is a bonus.
No incentive to stay with them, other suppliers offer a better deal that trustpower won't match. As mentioned above a great service but in todays economy every dollar saved counts.

Since joining trustpower 3months ago i have had to call customer service 2-3 times a month regarding slow speeds or random disconnection. Everytime its a different excuse. Was told different instructions each time and also told to use my old vodafone modem as it was better then theirs according to one worker. Everytime it rains the internet cuts off and i was advised that this happens to all internet providers WHICH IS LIES because our neighbours have no problem with theirs d ...read more
