Back in 2007, Trustpower Phone & Internet (then known as Kinect), began providing phone services to residential customers. The same year, we began offering services over ADSL to residential and business customers.

In 2010, we successfully implemented an ISP network and began providing internet services directly to our customers. As is the case today, our service was supported by Trustpower’s strong wholesale relationships with network companies.

In 2011, the Government committed $1.35 billion to build an Ultra Fast Broadband (UFB) network throughout New Zealand. We soon started planning to offer UFB to customers and connected our first ultra fast broadband customer in August 2012. Today, we provide over 500 customers with phone and internet services over UFB. Internet speeds range from 30 megabits to 100 megabits per second.

In 2013 we had 27,500 telecommunications customers. Over 16,000 of them were with us for their broadband service, and the number continues to grow.

As always, we strive to offer our customers quality service. We are also committed to ongoing innovation and excellence across the telecommunications sector. Trustpower is a member of the Telecom Carriers Forum (TCF).

Stay Away!!!

Pros:

I spoke to at least one nice person

Cons:

EVERYTHING... really this is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I am forgiving of most things but Trustpower really has no redeeming qualities. Super crap internet speed/does or does not work on a whim. If you get behind in the bill, they do not work with you in any way, and oh they charge you still for a service you don't have and on a soft disconnect you should be able to call 111 or an 0800 number but no we had no such available amenities which is against the law. On calling regarding this we were told it would cost us an extra $138.00 for them to check if there was a fault. Don't get two weeks behind and DON'T deal with Trustpower. The only trust worthy thing about them is their crappy service. ...read more

Since joining trustpower 3months ago i have had to call customer service 2-3 times a month regarding slow speeds or random disconnection. Everytime its a different excuse. Was told different instructions each time and also told to use my old vodafone modem as it was better then theirs according to one worker. Everytime it rains the internet cuts off and i was advised that this happens to all internet providers WHICH IS LIES because our neighbours have no problem with theirs during a rainy day. Had enough and will pay the disconnection fee just to rid of their services. ...read more

I've only been a customer for 3 months and it been hell. Messed my bill charges, charged me way more than my own plan lol!!! Speed is slower than a turtle. I think I can run down to the store and back and the movie is still buffering. Ugh it's just the worst.

Pros:

None

Cons:

- bad services
- calculates bill charges wrong and then comes back with the wrong charges again. No confidence in their billing. I CALLED THEM OUT ON IT AND TGEY CAME BACK WITG ANOTHER CALCULATION BUT DIDNT EVEN EXPLAIN OR APOLOGISE FOR THEIR MISTAKE. Be very careful and check your billing charges.
- charge me for services I didn't ask or request for and when I said I'm not paying they had the nerve to demand this payment LMAO!!!
-poor/ low customer service
- speed is super slow I can finish a whole meal and the movie is still buffering. Crazy

AVOID THEM AT ALL COST. Stay away !!!!

Fibre 100/20, but it's like we are back to adsl.
On a cabled connection (not wifi to the router) Youtube videos buffer, websites are slow to load, connection drop outs, speed anywhere between 30Mbps - 90Mbps according to speedtest.net.
Good price, and its only 1 utility company to pay, though stuck for 24 months.

Pros:

Cheaper
1 company for power, gas, phone, and internet

Cons:

For the 100/20 fibre plan.
Unreliable speed
Connection drops in and out
Bad for gaming
Videos buffer even via cabled connection
24 month contract
