After 30yrs with Telecom/Spark and finally after advising them that my contract had terminated. Spark can’t offer a similar deal that I had for the last 12 months. Which is $65 /m on unlimited 100/20 fibre naked boardband. The can’t only offer $89 for 12 month contract. They are other ISP that can do better than Spark. But Myrepbulic was a good deal. And I had friends that are with them.

I've been with Spark for a while and was on a legacy Total Home plan utilising entry level 100Mbps fibre. While the underpinning reliability of the Chorus service is fine (it's basically irrelevant which ISP you go with), Sparks support isn't either great or awful, but their price point is way out, particularly when its packaged with a mobile plan where you already get sticky add-ons like Spotify and Lightbox. They are also completely unresponsive to price matching for effectively equivalent services, trying to sell all sorts of non-existent and intangible "service" benefits. ...read more
Pros
Basic unlimited fibre that says what its going to do. When you do get a human to talk to, they tend to be helpful (once you get past the "rebbot your modem" script.
Cons
Pricing about 25%+ higher than competition. Spark Unplan options are a joke - unlimited is about $5 cheaper that the legacy plan that's been around for 4 years. The online bot is atrocious, or it may be an actual person cutting and pasting a script - it's actually hard to tell, but it is zero value add. Basically, it feels like Spark don't care about losing customers from their premium brand as they assume that incumbency / consumer laziness will ensure that enough people don't investigate the market. ...read more

Too expensive.
Pros
No hassle when we moved house. Quickly replaced faulty equipment.
Cons
Too expensive. At least 3 total failures in lees than a year. 3 faulty modems in the time we were with them.

A fairly standard provider, but in under two years, two modems have gone down.
Pros
Sorted problems promptly and fast transfer with no issues when we moved.
Cons
Far too expensive .
