They are always fighting to do better and they are proud of their ability to innovate. Their team is filled with amazing people who are knowledgeable and helpful and, basically, just love the Internet. They are small enough company to care and big enough to make a difference.

Orcon is all about the internet and their network is optimised for fibre. That means tonnes of data, plenty of bandwidth, smart data caching technology, and low lag time. They love fast fibre, and that is why they would not dream of doing anything to slow you down like throttling or traffic managing.

They have scrapped data caps and all the plans are now unlimited. They just do not make sense in a world of fibre and 4K Netflix. They want to offer New Zealanders the best broadband possible – and innovation is the way they drive this.

Don't trust this company , broken there own agreement few times and still failed to give a agreed facility


after contract period asking their modem too , totally dump.

If anyone wanna know ,what is the smell of "ROTTEN EGG " look like ?this is the company you looking @

Disconnected my internet 3 times within a space of 4 months of being with them. The reason for all disconnections was their error as I pay by direct debit, so not payment issues. When connecting me initially they disconnected my existing service provider but I hadn't received my modem yet. They said that wouldn't happen again, but we were without internet for atleast 3 days because it was on a Friday night, we had discovered coming home it had been disconnected, and they tried to cover it up by saying there is appears to be an issue on the account - no it was their stupid technicians team getting it wrong and escalating to a supervisor got that fixed. The 2nd time they did it again, we were approached by them to move onto Fibre, I said sure, but again, I hadn't received my modem, AGAIN they disconnected me on the Saturday morning. Didn't get internet till 7pm that evening after I demanded to speak to a supervisor after calling them every 2 hours to find out what the haps were, within 5 mins it got reconnected. And then they did it the very next business day, and it was a system error where they had loaded into the system that i should be on fibre but no modem to connect to, I opted out for Fibre at the end because it was soooo messy. ...read more
Speed is good, when its on. Support is available for the basics. Bills can be emailed to you.
Trying to get action or confirmation timely is pathetic. No preparation or process when coming to transitioning onto new systems, they don't even call to make sure the modem is received, they just guess. And they are ALL overseas, I can't understand them half the time because of their accents, and no appreciation of the fact that people have busy lives and all they want is to be given a heads up or notification. I spent 36 hours on phone to Orcon in many phonemails of about 20 minutes to over an hour long trying to get my Ultra fast broadband and VOIP phone to work simultaneously. But I am now leaving them because they still haven't managed to do this after about 9 months. Very frustrating. Their phone help-centre is in the Philippines and there is little coordination and noone has the authorisation to make a decision!
Off shore help-desk. They are inconsistent, and are happy to waste a lot of the customers time to go over and over things that have already been checked by someone else - I got 5 routers and still things didn't change! After the 3rd router, it was obviously not the router, but they wouldn't listen!! It was so frustrating. ...read more
They got the internet to work at a decent speed eventually, but still the VOIP didn't work.
