Orcon's aim is to bring Best Quality Internet to Kiwis. They want to offer the world's smoothest broadband experience in New Zealand.

Orcon is all about the internet and their network is optimised for fibre. That means tonnes of data, plenty of bandwidth, smart data caching technology, and low lag time. They love fast fibre, and that is why they would not dream of doing anything to slow you down like throttling or traffic managing.

They have scrapped data caps and all the plans are now unlimited. They just do not make sense in a world of fibre and 4K Netflix. They want to offer New Zealanders the best broadband possible – and innovation is the way they drive this.

Orcon knows its stuff when it comes to internet. The company was the first to unbundle the local loop, the first to launch a mass-market plug and play VoIP device, and the first to get Kiwis hooked up to ultra-fast broadband.

Quite surprised what an excellent installation they did, super speedy and efficient and the customer service guy was a kiwi (even better) and extremely switched on
Loving orcon had not a single issue with my fibre B.B. connection
HavenΓÇÖt checked the price in relation to the super fibre optic we are on with other providers so cost maybe...maybeee a factor . But the service and reliability is brilliant

Upgraded from the Genius plan and have had constant outages on our Ethernet connection. Had Geeks on Wheels in for support as this was insufficient through Orcon. They conveyed that the modem was low spec and prone to drop outs. They dont track client comments as they constantly ask the same questions when giving advice.
Hard to see at this stage.
Bad customer support and poor communications. Modem (Ethernet) drops out regularly.

The issue with Orcon is that when something goes wrong, their Help Desk (until very recently) was in the Philippines and the accent made understanding really difficult. Add to that, the American-style way of telling callers what they are doing at every step of the process instead of just getting on with it and not wasting our time.
We had excellent service from Orcon when our new fibre was installed and we couldn't get wi-fi throughout the new house but I had to make many visits to their HO in Takapuna and complain loudly to get that help. ...read more
I don't often have a problem with their reliability these days and they finally seem to have increased their Help Desk staff numbers.
Charges are high until a better deal is offered by a competitor - then they want to do a deal to keep us with them. They have other ISPs within the Vocus Group that offer the same as Orcon at lower rates but they don't think to reduce Orcon customer rates at the same time.
They attract and reward new customers but ignore those who have been loyal customers for years.

This company advertises 3 months fre vdsl till fibre is connected. All for $79. To my surprise I received a bill for $94 within a week. Took me 11/2 hours to get this corrected. Not a great start. My vdsl is also slower compared to my previous adsl. Orcon tells me they can't do anything to fix this.

Aghast. Third parties let this provider down. Delivery of modem - terrible. Chorus connected the wrong house.
Slow jittery service. Streaming stutters. No where near the down of 100mps more like 44mps. Didnt connect on the due date - connected 5 days after. Threatened with a fee if a tech came out. Only to discover Chorus had set up the wrong house. Fibre went down - their own site says all systems running. Had to phone again to be told it was done. ...read more
