Chose Now as our ISP in Dec 2023 as they had a good sign-up offer. Haven't had any issues with the connection until last Friday arvo. Immediately got through to staff member over the phone who was friendly and quick to identify that the problem was local. They arranged for a tech to come the following morning who resolved the issue (which was caused by dodgy wiring done by builders).

Hotshot are awesome! They organised Chorus to install fibre at my house. Unfortunately Chorus was unable to install it without figging up my driveway so I contacted Hotshot. Received a full refund. I can't recommend the customer service enough. Totally wish I could use your service. Thanks very much anyway. You can be sure I will still recommend Hotshot to everyone I know

I was a client for 2 years and only cancelled my account because I moved to a place that already uses another provider. The whole process was very smooth, from installation to closing. I've never had any major problems, but whenever I contacted client support, the was a super friendly staff there to help, either by phone or email.

Fantastic customer service - there best I have had with any utility provider. Recently updated plan and got new router - router arrived in less than 24 hrs. Some glitches with new plan ironed out with helpful staff.

We have been with NOW as our home internet provider now for over five years and have never had any problems or complaints. Their customer support is superb - real people to talk to as well as prompt responses to email inquiries.

Speed was great mostly, but had a pile of weird issues. Support were lovely and the front line support people are awesome. But in the end you just get the run around

Slingshot, owned by 2degrees who in turn is owned by Voyage Australia Pty Limited, and they are owned by Vocus Group Ltd (formerly Vocus communications) who is owned by a consortium of Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) Australia. The latter an Australian Infrastructure Investment Group.
I believe they also piggy back Amazon Networks infrastructure as well.
So, comparing 2degrees with Slingshot seems to result in the same bad customer service reviews and sometimes dodgy network connections.
I.e. Packet loss and lower speeds than advertised.
When connecting to many Australian businesses I had found a lot of connections also seem to be getting re-routed overseas to America before coming back to the Australian company and then onto NZ.
A result of their contracts that they have secured within other countries for connections perhaps? The business connection with Amazon Networks?
So I guess the above mentioned ownership probably explains why the two companies have similar performances and bad reviews. They are owned by the same parent company. :-/

For the most part the connection functions. Not at full speed, but at around 80% of the given 300mbps paid for.
Cons
Customer service is so so. Off shore as far as I can tell.
